Quality & Reliability

Quality is a working method, not a claim

In agricultural commodities, quality is decided long before despatch — in what is bought, how it is handled and how carefully the order is coordinated.

Our Position

What buyers can expect from us

We do not describe a commodity as better than it is. Lots are assessed against the agreed description, handled appropriately and packed to protect the product — and where something does not meet the requirement, we say so before it becomes the buyer's problem.

Six Commitments

How reliability is built into an order

01 / Sourcing

Careful sourcing

Buying decisions are made against the requirement in hand, considering commodity, variety, season and the condition of what is offered.

02 / Commodity

Commodity quality

Each line is judged on the characteristics that matter to it, rather than on a single generic standard applied across the portfolio.

03 / Handling

Proper handling

Storage, movement and any processing are planned to protect condition between assessment and packing.

04 / Packaging

Appropriate packaging

Packing material and pack size are selected for the commodity, the order and the transport route it will take.

05 / Communication

Consistent communication

Buyers are told where an order stands, including when something changes. Predictability is part of the service.

06 / Coordination

Reliable order coordination

One consignment, coordinated end to end, so that what was confirmed is what is prepared and despatched.

Assessment

What we look at before accepting a lot

The checks below are applied according to the commodity in question — a jaggery lot and an oilseed lot are not assessed the same way, and neither is fresh produce.

  • General condition — how the lot presents on inspection.
  • Cleanliness and foreign matter — what is present that should not be.
  • Moisture condition — where relevant to the commodity and its storage.
  • Uniformity — whether the lot is consistent throughout.
  • Match to specification — whether it reflects what the buyer asked for.

Where a buyer requires specific testing, certification or third-party inspection, this should be stated with the enquiry so that arrangements can be discussed for that order.

Reliability

Dependability is what makes a supplier worth keeping

Quality on a single consignment is achievable. Doing it the same way on the next one is what buyers actually need — and that is a matter of method.

Agreed before confirmed

We confirm orders on terms we can meet, with the specification recorded so both sides work from the same description.

Kept informed

Status updates through preparation and despatch, so buyers are not left guessing about their consignment.

Accountable on issues

If something is not right, we would rather address it directly than defend it. That is how trade relationships survive.
